Privacy Policy

Effective 2025-06-01 · version 2025-06-01

1. Who is responsible for your information

This service is operated by RE Tracker ("we"), Lévis, Québec, Canada. The person responsible for the protection of personal information is Julien Fortier, Founder — privacy@retracker.ca.

Any question or request about your personal information can be sent to them.

2. Information we collect

3. Why we collect it (purposes)

We collect this with your consent, which you may withdraw at any time.

4. Cookies & technology

We use only storage strictly necessary to operate the service (keeping you signed in). We do not use advertising cookies or profiling/tracking technology.

5. Sharing with third parties

Google Firebase (hosting, authentication and database) and Stripe (payments) act as our service providers. We do not sell your information.

If you use the optional Bank Sync feature, Plaid Inc. accesses your chosen accounts' transaction data on your behalf and acts as our service provider (see https://plaid.com/legal/). We request transaction data only.

When you use the optional AI listing analysis, the listing link or text you submit (and your locale) is sent to Anthropic, PBC, our AI provider, to generate a draft analysis. We don't send your account, financial or portfolio data for this.

Data is only shared with other users when you explicitly add it to a partnership.

6. Storage outside Quebec

Our data is hosted by Google in the United States, and the providers above (Stripe, Anthropic for AI analysis, and Plaid for Bank Sync) also operate in the United States. Using the service therefore involves transfers of personal information outside Quebec. Before relying on these transfers we assessed the privacy factors involved to ensure adequate protection.

7. How long we keep it

We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account, your data is erased. Security logs are kept for at most 365 days.

8. Your rights

At any time you may: access your information, have it corrected, withdraw consent, obtain a portable copy, or request deletion or de-indexing.

To exercise a right, email privacy@retracker.ca. We respond within 30 days. You can also download your data from the Account page.

9. Security

Access is protected by authentication and by access rules that limit each user to their own data (and to the data of partnerships they belong to).

10. Confidentiality incidents

If an incident presents a risk of serious injury, we will notify the Commission d'accès à l'information and the affected individuals, and keep a register of incidents.

11. Complaints

You may file a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec (CAI): https://www.cai.gouv.qc.ca/.

12. Changes

We may update this policy. The effective date and version above indicate the latest revision.
